I am loving playing with some of the Stampin’ Up! New and returning colours. The start of a new catalogue is always a super exciting time. Playing with all the new goodies, feels like Christmas.

Im joining in on the INKspired bloghop today. Before me on the hop is Allison. We hop once a fortnight and our insperation is always a sketch that the lovely a Teneale has created. This is the sketch for this hop.

I pulled out some new goodies I got at OnStage and started playing around with a few colour combos.
I pulled out the Natures Poem Designer series paper (DSP) and coordinating stamp set Rooted in Nature. I loved this stunning leaf DSP using Mint Macaron. The texture in this paper is stunning. Once I picked the paper I just played around with the sketch and I actually changed the sketch a little by not adding the top panel, I just loved the DSP I didn’t want to cover it up.

I stamped the circles out of Wood Words stamp set to create the scallop in the sketch in Lovely Lipstick ink on Lovely Lipstick Card. I then stamped and cut out the tree using the new incolour Lovely Lipstick and Crumb Cake on Whisper White thick cardstock.

To finish it of I used the new Crumb Cake twine to tie a bow and the new Leaf Trinkets, I love these.

Next up the the beautiful Barb

Its so sad to say good bye to some one or something you love!
I feel so sad to say good bye to the beautiful butterflies in the Butterflies Thinlits set.
This stunning large butterfly needed to be the hero in this card to really show off its beauty! Don’t worry tho the new catalogue will blow your mind.

Today I'm joining in on a blog hop with the ESAD girls. I love joining these hops, the inspiration I get from hopping around and viewing every ones projects is amazing. Be sure to hop around and see every ones blog and leave a comment if you love what you see.

Now to my project! Here it is that stunning butterfly I was talking about, in all its glory.
This is a super special card for one of my team members who recently promoted, I love spoiling my girls.

Looking a bit closer at this card you can see all the layers. To create the faux linen background first I stamped the Sheet Music background stamp in momento black on Gloss white paper. I then sanded off a layer of the ink with a block sander from the hardware store. I sponged over the whole image with Crumb Cake ink using a sponge and sanded a bit off again to give it a lighter and aged effect. Finally I stamped the background image from Butterfly Basic in Crumb Cake and the splotches from timeless textures in Crumb Cake and Elegant Eggplant.

Finally I cut out the Butterfly and splotched Versamark ink followed by gold embossing powder. This was then heat set to create the detail on the actual butterfly..

Lots of texture and layers of ink happening in this card.

I sponged and stamped the background piece in Elegant Eggplant ink on Elegant Eggplant card. Layered it up a few times added some Linen thread and finally I was done.

Next up on the hop is the lovely Sandra.
 Grab a cuppa and enjoy.
